Every Day 40 Needy Babies
Go Home With Nothing...Not Even a Blanket
Nearly 17,000 babies were born at
Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas last year...over 85% went
home with nothing...not even a blanket to keep them warm. The
mothers of these tiny babies
are the working poor in our community. Many do not have heat in
their homes and some are even
homeless. Others work two, three, even four jobs to keep a roof
over their head. During
the winter months it is especially important that these babies
have something warm to wear.
Little Angels is a nonprofit
organization providing desperately needed layettes, free of
charge, to the poor mothers
at Parkland. Currently, Little Angels provides 50 layettes each
week...but there is a need
for at least 280 each week. Each layette includes a diaper bag, an
outfit, a blanket, a cap,
pair of socks/booties, a bottle, a pacifier and 2 bibs. Additional
items such as diapers, baby
care items and formula are included when available.
You, your group, church or
business can help by donating a complete layette or by donating
individual items to be
combined into a layette for the babies. All items should be new.
Donations are tax deductible
and 100% goes directly to the babies. Please make a difference
today so that another baby
does not have to shiver from the cold tonight!
